Using Herbal Remedies for
High Blood Pressure Treatment

Using herbal remedies for high blood pressure treatment can help to lower blood pressure. The key is knowing your options and how to exercise them properly.

Should you consider herbal remedies for high blood pressure treatments?

Yes....

In many instances, herbs can be part of your treatment for high blood pressure. The key is to know what types of herbs you should take and which types are not going to provide you with any added benefit.

Herbs are all natural, which means that they can work well within the body. In fact, many ancient Chinese traditions include the use of herbs to heal impurities and high blood pressure.

Be careful when taking herbs for high blood pressure.

Taking too many can cause a significant decrease in blood pressure, which can be dangerous. Some herbs work to stimulate the heart, which can have the opposite effect of what you are hoping for.

Further, some herbs can work in against the blood pressure medications that you are taking, which may further worsen your health rather than improving it.

The following herbs should not be part of any type of herbal remedy for blood pressure treatment:

  • Licorice
  • Asian Ginseng
  • Ephedra
  • Rosemary essential oils

Herbs for Treatment

On the other hand, there are herbs for high blood pressure that can be highly effective. This includes the following:

  • Dandelion: A tea or a garnish to salads, dandelion is an excellent resource for lowering blood pressure. They also work as a diuretic that can work along with the other medications you are taking for high blood pressure.
  • Chrysanthemum: This is a great choice and is available in a supplement form. It works to help the coronary arteries to dilate so that there is an increase in blood flow.
  • Astragalus centralpinus: This herb is one of the many that come from ancient Chinese treatments. It can help with a number of chronic heart conditions. It helps to work as a diuretic and improves blood circulation.

Even More Options

There are other herbs that work well for high blood pressure treatment, too.

This includes aloe vera, ginger, golden seal, sumac tea, wild apples and capsicum.

When it comes to using these herbal remedies for high blood pressure, it is important to focus on the right dosage. To find that dosage, you should consult your doctor or an herbalist.

The right concentration should be carefully selected since too much may cause side effects while too little will end up causing no benefit to your health. Herbs can make a difference, though.
