Alternative Healing Treatment

(Info On High Blood Pressure)

Alternative healing treatment is controversial but is now becoming more main stream. With the amount of bad side effects and death from prescription medications alternative measures are looking good.

Holistic healing is being accepted, where you are no longer just body parts to be treated separately. But, your body to be treated as a whole, with your physical, emotional and spiritual selves all linked together.

Bear in mind that the Egyptians wrote about holistic treatments, diets and food in ancient times. So this is nothing new, just new to this generation.

For thousands of years aromatherapy, acupuncture, acupressure has been used as an alternative or complementary treatment to combat sickness and heal the body.

I am a strong believer of these types of treatments for they work for me.

What Is Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of fragrance to promote healing. It is the basis of this type of treatment. These fragrances and oils are extraction from certain leaves, flowers, stem, roots and barks.

You massage these oils into your skin or occasionally place on your tongue where it is then absorbed into the body within minutes.

Your healing begins.

I have used it to clear my sinuses, lower my cholesterol levels and lower my high blood pressure. At times, I have even used aromatherapy extracts as painkillers.

Other Uses

Aromatherapy is also used to reduce premenstrual symptoms, heal wounds - I have used Valor essential oil on cuts and see it heal within twenty-four hours. It also improve circulation.

A new and growing field is psychological aromatherapy. There are some specific oils like cedarwood and lavender along with other essential oils, that when you just smell them it affects the limbic system in your brain triggering relaxation and healing.

Aromatherapy Baths

If you love taking baths then select a blend of up to three essential oils, adding 5 drops to 10 ml of a carrier oil and mix.

Run your bath then add the aromatic oil mix after turning off the faucet. Close your bathroom door to keep in the vapors and soak in the bath for at least 15 minutes.

Lie back making yourself comfortable, close your eyes and allow
the scent to fill your entire body. Imagine its healing power coursing through your blood vessels lowering your blood pressure and bringing you deep relaxation.

Use the following oils for these specific reasons.

Relaxing and calming oils use: Cedarwood, clary sage, geranium, jasmine, juniper berry, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, orange, rose, sandalwood and ylang-ylang.

Oils that promote sleep use: Camomile, clary sage, geranium, juniper berry, lavender, lemongrass, orange, peace and calming, rose, sandalwood, ylang-ylang.

Oils that are diuretic for hypertension with fluid retention use: Aroma Life, cedarwood, geranium, juniper berry, lemon and peppermint.

Acupuncture

I love acupuncture and do a monthly treatment plan. Keeping my body's energy balanced which helps to ward off illnesses and stress.

There are twelve major meridians that correspond to the organs within your body. Your Qi moves through these meridians and as long as your Qi energy flows smoothly along your meridians you will live in a state of health and balance.

Acupuncture works deep within your body freeing energy blockages. Your Acupuncturist inserts needles along your body's meridian to stimulate and unblocked points to help you sleep better, for your digestion, to help relieve you from pain, to lower high blood pressure, heal and to maintain your body's energy balance.

It balances your body's yin and yan.

Depending on your illness, at times right after an acupuncture treatment you can feel relief right away, while at other times you may need a couple of treatments before seeing any change.

Acupressure

Acupressure is healing that is all within your fingertips and under your control. You can use your fingertips to massage away pain, start your healing process and even lower your high blood pressure within a minute.

Many people are more comfortable with this type of alternative healing treatment. So you can just stimulate your acupressure points yourself lowering your blood pressure. But should only be used if your reading is below 200/100 mmHg.

Visiting A Health Practitioner

Even though you may maintain an alternative healing treatment of your choice it should not be viewed as a cure-all for every problem you may have.

But, rather as a complementary help along with your doctor's advise.

So here is to your good health.
